The EMF protection cell phone sticker, does it work? I have to admit when I went into my examination of the topic, I was convinced I was going to find my answer as clear as day. Either they help reduce EMF radiation or they don’t. I would then grab my soapbox, stand proudly on it and shout my answer for all to hear. What I found, however, did not convince me one way or the other. There seems to be two very different sides of the argument. I am not a scientist. I may be a bit gullible at times. I want to believe.
There are a couple companies out there that produce EMF protection cell phone stickers that seem legit. They offer products that have good reviews online, have patents for and people swear by them. Of course, there are probably a few swindlers out there trying to make a buck as well. So, when I went into the topic, I was looking at the product as a way to protect oneself from cell phone radiation. Some manufacturers claim you can plop these stickers on other items as well, such as microwaves. For my intent (cell phones), I do believe there are other options available that are more well established (EMF cell phone protective cases). So without further ado…
Ode to when I was younger. Growing up, neither myself or anybody I knew had a cordless phone. And a cell phone? What on earth was that? Yes, growing up, we had no idea as to what was to come. My family actually had one phone sitting on the kitchen wall with a long cord attached to it. No, the phone didn’t have a rotary dial, it had buttons, so at least we were somewhat hip. Anyway, I remember a fairly big deal for me was sometime in high school, when I acquired a phone in my bedroom. That way I could chit-chat with my friends and try to woo my girlfriend in private. I even obtained a long cord for my phone, so I could move more swiftly around my room while talking or relax on my bed and get even more comfortable.
Nowadays, I can’t even remember the last time I used anything but my cell phone at home. We do have a cordless phone hidden next to the television, and I am sure I spoke with a telemarketer or some person trying to have me donate to a charity. But when? It has obviously been a while.
Nowadays, my cell phone is the best way to contact me. I have one for personal use, talking to my friends and family, and recently, my work gave me another cell phone to conduct my business calls on. What? Two cell phones? And here I am worried about EMF radiation (and rightfully so). Granted the road direction maps/apps work great for me. How do I get to some random ballpark in some random town for my child’s baseball game? No problem. Where is this random work meeting in some state I have only been to twice before? Thanks to my map app, I’m all set. But, how can I better defend myself from EMF radiation, while using my cell phone? Here are some of the more common ways to do just that.
Ways to Better Protect Ourselves from EMF Radiation via Our Cell Phone Addiction
- Turn the cell phone (or in my case cell phones) off at night. Or place your cell phone on airplane mode. If your cell phone doubles as your alarm clock, maybe invest in an actual alarm clock. Try placing your cell phone on the dresser on the other side of the room when going to bed.
- Invest in a great cell phone protection case. Whether you have an iPhone, an Android device or whatever else, DefenderShield is a great brand and offers a solid product line. Each protection case has been tested thoroughly to block EMF radiation. Browse DefenderShield’s cell phone protection cases here. Or view our article on EMF reducing cell phone cases here.
- When driving in your car, or when you need to hook up a set of wireless headphones for whatever reason, look to those that are Bluetooth free. Perhaps dive into EMF-free air tube headphones. Check out DefenderShield headphones here. Or view our article on EMF radiation in wireless headphones here.
- Put your cell phone on speaker mode and hold it away from your ear when in use.
What are EMF Protection Cell Phone Stickers?
Some people will put investing in a solid EMF protection cell phone sticker on the above list as well. For that reason, I decided to dive more into the subject. I decided to find out more about these stickers and try to determine if they really work?
EMF protection cell phone stickers are becoming more and more popular as of late. The manufacturers of these stickers claim they help shield and reduce the EMF radiation we are exposed to due to our cell phone use. I remember when I was a child, our teacher would reward the class with a cartoon sticker for each of us when we all turned in our homework. While those stickers probably wouldn’t help us here, these protection stickers are relatively the same size and look just as alluring. The manufacturers of these stickers claim the product transforms the radiation into other harmless forms without blocking the signal of your cell phone. In theory, you stick a cell phone sticker to the back of your phone and, wholla, hocus-pocus, you are good. But do they really work?
Do They Work?
Because the stickers are relatively small, where they do not encompass your entire cell phone, some would say the obvious better choice to block EMF radiation would be the cell phone protection case. That said, however, there seems to be two very different opinions on whether the EMF protection cell phone sticker really works as expected. Like a sports rivalry, both sides are fairly opinionated and unwavering.
On one side, there are some who claim that not only do the stickers not work, but that they may actually increase the radiation your cell phone emits. How? According to the FTC, these stickers may interfere with a cell phone’s signal and cause your phone to draw even more power in order to communicate with the cell tower.
Here is an article from howstuffworks.com, regarding the inefficiencies of EMF protection stickers. Read it here.
And here is another article from center4research.org that sides decisively against EMF protection stickers. Read it here.
And on the other side, there are companies that manufacture EMF protection cell phone stickers. One company is Aulterra Neutralizer. They have been in business since 1997 and actually have a patent on their technology. They use paramagnetic minerals in order to retune EMF radiation frequencies and make radiation no longer harmful to the human body. Aulterra Neutralizer’s product page dives into how exactly this product works.
EMF-Harmony also offers an EMF harmonizer product for cell phones. For the EMF-Harmony solution, you can view it here.
In Conclusion
Ugh, I now have a headache. And no, I don’t think it is from EMF but instead from pondering the two very different arguments. What do I think? Well, as I mentioned before, I do believe the better and proven choice to protect oneself from cell phone EMF radiation would be to invest in a good EMF cell phone protection case. However, I am still fairly intrigued by the stickers. I do believe these stickers have the potential to work. I actually searched YouTube.com for a video that gives me definitive proof (using an EMF meter) on whether a sticker reduces the radiation of the cell phone or not. I found one. However, after reading the comments, I realized the person performing the test was actually blocking the radiation with his hands before it can disperse to the meter. That is when I threw my own hands up in the air and decided to hit the pause button on my research. In my opinion, yes, I do think the concept of EMF protection cell phone stickers makes sense. I do, however, believe more research is needed to convince me one way or the other if they really work.
